People say your first love always occupies a special place in your heart. I couldn’t agree more. First love story yang mau saya share saat ini adalah tentang rumah pertama saya. The first home that I bought, my biggest purchase to date.
My journey to home ownership is a long winding road. Puluhan home open dan display home saya kunjungi sebelum akhirnya memutuskan untuk mengambil home and land package. Sempat ada rasa kecil hati karena area yang saya mampu ambil terbilang jauh. But you do you. God knows your capacity, He knows what you can and can’t handle, He will never lead you wrong.
Proses pembangunan rumah saya berjalan kurang lebih 6 bulan. Puji Tuhan tidak ada masalah berarti sampai akhirnya saya bisa menempati rumah itu di bulan Juni 2017. I still remember the feeling of having my first cup of coffee in that house. It is one of the best feelings ever! Finally I have my own place, a place where dreams come true and life is lived to the fullest.
Sungguh rumah ini adalah bukti kebesaran Tuhan. Ketika harus mengisi rumah dengan furniture, Tuhan yang sediakan satu per satu. Tidak serta merta instant seperti sulap yang semuanya langsung ada di depan mata, sempat ada masanya saya dinner duduk di lantai karena belum ada meja makan dan sofa, but at the end all is well. All is well because He is Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides.
Tidak terasa enam tahun sudah saya tinggal di rumah milik sendiri. Enjoying every bits of it, until it’s time to say “goodbye” to the house this month. Seasons of life change, saya menikah beberapa bulan lalu, pindah ke rumah suami, dan kami memutuskan untuk rent out rumah saya. The goodbye hurts but I believe for everything there is a season and a time for every matter. Had a good six years with the house, it’s time to let go. To let the house be a blessing to other people.
We surrender the rent out process to God and He never disappoints. Tuhan sediakan real estate agent yang baik dan hanya dalam kurun waktu empat hari sejak diadvertise, rumah saya sudah mendapat tenant yang memenuhi kriteria dengan harga sewa yang juga sangat tinggi. Our God is an amazing God. He is the same God, yesterday and today and forever. Six years ago, He answered my prayer to own a house and live comfortably in it. Six years later, He answered my prayer to get a good tenant. Thank you Lord! (AS)
