My little family’s journey in Perth is a faith-filled odyssey. We landed here as temporary residents around 1.5 years ago on a working visa sponsored by a company. Some people are aware that this journey has left a mark on our extended family. My mom, who stayed by our late dad’s side until he passed away just before we commenced job hunting in Perth, has come with us.

Starting with a wonderful story of how God led us here, I hoped that Perth would be my happily ever after place. It turns out that another faith-required journey has begun. My dear friends in the Gamma cell group know about it best, besides my family.

Currently, my little family is facing the biggest challenge we’ve ever had up until now. In a nutshell, we are unsure if we can live here permanently. With my limited capabilities, I am trying…

During this time, I have received countless support from my sister and brother-in-law. I have received prayers from my cell group friends and some friends from Indonesia, who interestingly popped up in my personal chat during this critical time.

During the latest TOM’s community event, someone received a revelation during prayers: ‘There is a woman who really wants to stay here; God wants to say: keep praying.’ Another dear friend sent me Psalm 121, noting that ‘God never slumbers.’ Interestingly, I just found out that the exact Bible verse is a part of the song I have been singing countless times: ‘Praise You in the Storm’ by Casting Crowns.

Psalm 121: ‘I lift up my eyes to the hills. From whence does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand. The sun shall not smite you by day, nor the moon by night.’

Friends, I believe we face our own specialised cross daily; let’s keep in mind that God never slumbers. (LGA)
